Frequently Asked Questions
General Questions
Do I need experience to start?
No experience needed! We host classes for a wide range of fitness levels and abilities. Our beginner classes are designed for students who are completely new. Instructors are trained to provide progressions and modifications so everyone can participate comfortably.
Do I need to be strong or flexible before starting?
No. Strength and flexibility develop naturally through consistent training.
Will I get a workout?
Yes. All classes build strength, flexibility, and coordination. The aerial arts are considered a low-impact and full-body sport. Beginners are encouraged to go at their own pace and take breaks whenever needed.
Are classes open to all genders?
Yes. Studio Aire is a welcoming space where people of all genders, backgrounds, and experience levels are encouraged to participate.
What is the age requirement for classes at Studio Aire?
Classes are designed for adults age 18+. However, students ages 16–17 may participate with a completed parental approval form.
Am I too old to start pole or aerial fitness?
Not at all. Pole and aerial fitness is for adults of all ages and backgrounds. Many students begin in their 30s, 40s, 50s, and beyond.
Class Preparation Questions
What should I bring?
We recommend a water bottle and grippy socks to start. Yoga students may also bring a mat if they prefer their own.
What should I wear to a pole class?
For beginner classes, wear fitted shorts higher than mid-thigh and a fitted top or sports bra. We use bare skin to grip the pole and strongly advise against long shorts or pants as they will make participation difficult. Refrain from using lotions or oils on the day of class to avoid a slippery pole.
What should I wear to an aerial class?
For aerial, you want more coverage. This protects your skin from friction burns during wraps and poses. We recommend form-fitting athletic clothing that covers the backs of the knees and midriff, such as leggings and a fitted shirt. Avoid wide-leg or flare pants, as they limit your ability to perform wraps and put you at risk of getting tangled on our apparatuses.
Can I wear jewelry?
Jewelry is not allowed in pole or aerial classes because it can damage the equipment and pose a safety risk. Trust us - you don't want your ring snagging on fabrics or digging into you as you grip a metal pole! If you have permanent jewelry, we recommend wrapping it with KT tape prior to class.
Do I need special shoes?
No shoes are required for beginner classes. Most classes are done barefoot or in socks. Specialty pole heels or dance shoes are optional and typically introduced later in choreography classes. For dance fitness classes, tennis shoes are allowed, but they must not be street shoes (shoes worn outside). This ensures that our floors stay clean and barefoot-friendly!
Program & Policies Questions
How early should I arrive and what is your late policy?
Please arrive 10 minutes early so you can check in, meet your instructor, and get ready for class. Late arrivals are not permitted to join class once warm-ups have begun for safety reasons.
Do you follow a set curriculum or series for classes?
No. While our classes follow level-based guidelines to ensure progressive learning, they are designed to be drop-in friendly and fitness-focused rather than part of a rigid series. We know adults have busy and changing schedules, so our flexible format allows you to join classes whenever it fits your routine. This also allows instructors more creativity by enabling them to fully express their unique style and expertise, helping you find individuals who best match your own energy.
What is your Grounded Program?
Our Grounded program is a series of traditional fitness classes that do not involve the pole or aerial apparatuses. These classes are drop-in only and competitively priced. Grounded allows everyone to enjoy a workout in our luminous, modern fitness space, whether you're an aerialist wanting to supplement your training or a new participant seeking an aesthetic and conveniently-located studio.
What is your cancellation policy?
You have full control of your schedule through the Aire Portal. Classes cancelled at least 12 hours in advance will have the pass automatically returned to your account. Cancellations made within 12 hours of class start time will forfeit the pass, with no exceptions. To make changes, log into your Aire Portal, select the class from your dashboard, and choose the cancel option.
What if the studio cancels classes?
If the studio cancels classes for any reason, students will be notified via the Aire Portal and/or email and a class pass will be returned to their account. Inclement weather closures will be listed on social media and the Aire Portal information feed.
What is your refund policy?
All refunds are issued in the form of a class pass or Aire Portal credit only. Refunds will not be issued to a credit card or original form of payment. For complete details regarding our refund policies and procedures, please refer to the Terms of Payment located in the footer of our website.
Subscription Questions
How do I book a class once I've purchased a class pack subscription?
Booking is simple! As soon as your subscription is active, your passes are attached to your account, you can reserve your spot instantly through our website or the Studio Aire portal. You'll have full access to our schedule, managing your bookings, and even message instructors.
What is your cancellation policy?
We believe in complete flexibility, which is why you can cancel your subscription at any time with no hidden fees or penalties. Simply log into your account portal and navigate to the subscriptions and billing section. To avoid the next billing cycle, we just ask that you cancel at least 24 hours before your monthly renewal date.
When does my billing period start?
Great question! Your billing period starts when you purchase your subscription. This means that your first billing cycle will start on the day you purchase your subscription. Renewals will occur on the same day of each month, meaning that if you subscribed on the 7th of the month, your next billing cycle will be on the 7th of the next month.
How long are class passes valid?
Class passes included in a subscription are valid only during the applicable billing cycle and expire on the renewal date. If a subscription is cancelled, any remaining class passes remain valid until the end of that billing cycle and expire on the original renewal date.
